“When I told Denny [O’Neil] that Elektra was going to get killed,” Miller said, “he was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know how Jim [Shooter] is going to feel about that. She’s more popular than Daredevil now.’ And I went down to Jim’s office—he was working on some papers—and I said, ‘I have a story, and I need to kill Elektra.’ And he sort of sunk his face in his hands and said, ‘Tell me the story, Frank.’ And I told him what I had in mind, and he said, ‘That’s great. Do it.’ ”
